AI Employees

An AI employee built for your business, not somebody else's.

Support agent, SDR, ops coordinator, bookkeeping assistant: AI employees now take over real workloads. The products sell you one bot that does one job its way. We're the boutique that designs the AI employee around your process, builds it into your systems, secures it like it handles your money (it does), and stays on as the team that runs it.

Why custom, not a subscription

You don't hire an employee who only works one way.

A subscription bot does one job, its way

The AI employee products on the market are built for the average company: one scripted role, their process, their integrations. Your business isn't average, and the moment your process diverges from the demo, the bot stalls and a human quietly takes the work back.

The role you need covered doesn't match the product

A real role spans the inbox, the CRM, a spreadsheet nobody admits to, and a dozen judgment calls. Off-the-shelf covers the slice that demos well. The value is in the rest: software shaped to how the role actually runs in your company.

Handing a bot your logins is a security decision

An AI employee touches credentials, customer data, and money paths. Most vendors ask for broad access and a leap of faith. We're a security practice: every AI employee we ship runs on scoped credentials with hard boundaries and an audit trail.

Nobody owns it after the trial

A subscription improves on the vendor's schedule, for the vendor's average customer. An AI employee we build is run by the team that built it: monitored, tuned to your cases, and improved for as long as that earns its keep.

The roles we build

One hire, shaped around the role it's taking over.

An AI employee for a small business earns its keep on work that is digital, repetitive, and describable. These are the roles where our clients see payback first, each one scoped to what the AI owns, what it assists, and what stays human.

01

Support agent

Tickets triaged, routine questions resolved, replies drafted in your voice, refunds and escalations queued for human sign-off. Your team keeps the conversations that need a person.

02

Sales development rep

Lead research, CRM hygiene, personalized outreach drafts, and follow-ups that never slip. A human approves what goes out; the pipeline stops depending on someone's memory.

03

Ops coordinator

Statuses chased, handoffs tracked, schedules kept, and the weekly report assembled from your systems before anyone asks for it.

04

Bookkeeping assistant

Invoices read and validated, reconciliation run, AP/AR chased, month-end prepared, with an auditable trail and a human on every exception. Document processing is the workload we've run at national scale since 2017.

05

Executive assistant

Inbox triage, meeting prep, notes turned into follow-ups, and drafts that start 80% done. The judgment stays yours; the typing doesn't.

06

Knowledge analyst

Your policies, project history, and documents made answerable, so staff stop re-asking for what the company already knows and research lands as a summary, not a pile of tabs.

How it works

Design, build, run.

The same discipline as hiring: define the role, train the hire, manage the work. Except this one is engineered, and it shows up in weeks.

01

Design

We map the role with the people who do it today: which tasks the AI employee owns, which it assists, and which it must never touch. You get the process map, the access plan, and the payback math before anything gets built.

02

Build

The AI employee is built into production, wired into your systems with scoped access, tested against your real cases and real edge cases, and put to work alongside your team in weeks, not months.

03

Run

We stay on as the team that runs it: monitoring, tuning, new workflows as the role grows, and human-in-the-loop reviews that keep it honest. Or your team takes the keys; the documentation is written for that too.

Security guardrails

Every AI employee gets a security clearance, not a master key.

An AI employee works inside your email, your CRM, your books. That makes it an insider, and insiders are where most damage starts. We're engineers who can secure what they build: security isn't a feature we bolt on, it's our other practice, and every build inherits it.

  • Scoped credentials: the least access that does the job, nothing more
  • Hard boundaries on what it can read, write, send, and spend
  • Human sign-off queues on anything consequential or irreversible
  • A full audit trail: every action logged, every decision explainable
  • Data agreements that keep your information out of model training
Production AI since 2017

Our first AI employee has been on the job for eight years.

Since 2017, Federico De Faveri has been fractional CTO of Gamma Communications, a New York promotions agency, where he built and still runs receiptrewards.com: an OCR receipt-promotions platform behind national campaigns for Unilever, Knorr, Hellmann's, and Fandango. Roughly 100,000 receipts read, validated, and adjudicated by AI across 3 to 6 national promotions a year, with humans on the exceptions and real money on every decision. That's an AI employee in all but name, in production for years, for a client who isn't a tech company.

“Always available, endlessly patient in explaining every decision, calm in every emergency, and the quality of the platform has never let us down.”
Michael Eliran, CEO of Gamma Communications, New York
Pricing

A fixed fee. A fraction of a salary.

Every engagement is custom-tailored: your role, your systems, your risk profile. Bounded builds, one role's highest-payback workflow wired into your business, start at $3,500. Fuller roles and multi-role programs scale from there with company size and how deep the integration goes. You get a fixed-fee quote on the first call, and the quote is firm. Comparing options? We wrote an honest guide to what this kind of work costs, including when you don't need us.

What sets the number

How much of the role the AI employee owns, how many systems it touches, how much judgment it exercises, and how much safety engineering the stakes demand. A quote always comes with the reasoning attached.

Every build includes

The role and process map, production-grade engineering, scoped access and security guardrails, human-in-the-loop controls, testing against your real cases, staff training, and documentation your next engineer can read.

Who runs it after launch

Your team can: the documentation assumes no engineer on staff. Most clients keep us on instead: a monthly retainer where we monitor, tune, and grow the AI employee as the role grows.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

It's the market's name for an AI agent that takes over a meaningful share of one role's workload: a support agent, a sales development rep, an ops coordinator, a bookkeeping assistant. Not a person and not a legal employee, but software that works inside your systems, follows your process, and hands the judgment calls to your team. The name is new; we've been building this kind of system since 2017.

It does well on work that is digital, repetitive, and describable: reading documents, triaging an inbox, drafting replies, updating records, chasing statuses, reconciling numbers. It cannot own a client relationship, exercise novel judgment, or carry accountability; those stay human. The design phase draws that line explicitly for your role, task by task, before anything gets built. We wrote a guide to running that split on a role you're about to hire for.

It will, sometimes, and the system is designed for that. Every AI employee we build runs with human-in-the-loop controls: confidence thresholds, sign-off queues for anything consequential, reversible actions, and a full log of what it did and why. A wrong answer becomes a flagged exception on a human's desk, not an email that already went out or a payment that already moved.

A subscription bot is built for the average company and does one job its way; you adapt your process to the product, and the vendor's roadmap decides what it learns next. We work the other way: an AI employee designed around your process, integrated with the systems you already run, secured to your risk profile, and improved by the team that built it. You're hiring an AI employee consultant and engineers, not licensing a bot.

It stays under control you can point to. AI processing runs through enterprise API agreements that do not train on your data, every integration uses scoped credentials with the least access that does the job, and access is revocable the day you want it gone. We'll sign your NDA before seeing anything, and the data-flow map is part of the deliverable.

Weeks, not months. A bounded build, one role's highest-payback workflow wired into one or two systems, typically goes live in 2 to 4 weeks. A fuller role builds out from there, one workflow at a time, each one live with the people who work alongside it.

Bounded builds start at $3,500, fixed fee. Larger programs, a fuller role or several roles, scale with company size and how deep the integration goes, and are quoted as a fixed fee per engagement. The quote comes with the reasoning attached, and once quoted it's firm. Ongoing management, if you want us to keep running it, is a monthly retainer scoped on the same call.

Same engine, different shape. Our AI automation practice builds workflow automations and agents task by task; an AI employee engagement designs them around a role, so one 'hire' covers the triage, the drafting, the updates, and the handoffs that role actually owns. If you'd rather start with a single workflow, start there. If you want ongoing help adopting AI across the company, the AI enablement retainer is the broader door.
